If you have no direct internet connection from the laptop, here’s a link to the Realtek Ethernet Win 10 drivers for the LAN adapter in your laptop. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the entry, if the laptop’s WiFi connection is working OK, right click on the entry and select Update drivers and follow the prompts. If there is a red cross next to the LAN Realtek adapter entry, right click on the entry and click on Enable and then check if the LAN connection works OK. When in Device Manager, scroll down and click on > to the left of Network Adapter to expand the list.
If Win10, right click on the Windows Start button on the left side of the Taskbar and click on the Device Manager link. Have you checked the status of the LAN Network adapter and the Audio Controller in Device Manager to see if they are both OK? What OS is installed in the laptop, Win 7, Win 8.1 or Win 10?
